• In India it is estimated that one physiotherapists is required per 10,000 people. At present there are only 5000 qualified physiotherapists, so the demand for trained professionals can only be imagined.

Admission & Selection

APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION

• A candidate for admission to any of the courses under PEWS has to collect the prospectus and admission Form from the office on payment of Rs. 500/- by cash or through D/D in favour of Purbanchal Educational Welfare Society payable at Guwahati.
• The admission form duly filled in and accompanied by required testimonials must be submitted personally or by registered post along with two self addressed stamped envelopes.
• Proper receipt will be issued for all applications for admission received by the office.
• No application for admission shall be considered unless it is accompanied by attested copies of following testimonials:

1. Mark Sheet and certificate of all attempts of the qualifying Examination.
2. School /Leaving Transfer certificate.
3. Mark Sheet of the 10th standard Examination.
4. Evidence showing date and place of birth .
5. Two self addressed envelopes bearing postal stamp of Rs, 5/- each.
6. Age-Minimum -17 years -21 years , for ANM -18 years-28 years.
7. Migration certificate( in orginal) for B.Sc. (N) and BPT Students only.
8. Community certificate for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe.

QUALIFYING EXAMINATION

A candidate for admission to BPT or B.Sc. Nursing /BMLT Programme must have passed Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination(Science Stream ) under 10+2 pattern conducted by State Board of any state or Central board of Secondary Education, New Delhi or from any recognized Institute or equivalent offering Physics Chemistry and Biology and securing at least 45% in aggregate in these subjects(PCB)(40% for SC/ST candidates) for ANM/DMLT 10+2( any stream ) with 35% marks and for MPT 50% marks in BPT.For Post Basic B.Sc(Nursing ) minimum 50% in GNM for BMLT( No percentage Bar for GNM-10+2 Any Stream with 40% Marks.
ADMISSION

• The list of Selected Candidates in order of Merit for each Programme will be duly notified in the notice boards of the institutions and in the general notice board of the Society. The selected candidate will also be informed individually instructing them to be present on a specified date for admission by depositing fees .
• Candidates who fail to report on the specified date either in person or by a duly authorized representative and do not pay the full fees in prescribed time will be deemed to have forfeited their claim for admission. The seats becoming available in consequence will be offered to the Candidate from the waiting List in order of marit.

CANCELLATION

• If a candidate gets admitted in due time by paying requite fees, but fails to join the respective Course within ten days from the commencement of term, the authority concerned may at its discretion cancel the admission of such candidate. The fees paid by such a candidate shall not be refunded.
• Even if a Candidate getting duly admitted and joining the course in time remains continuously absent for a period of 15 days without prior permission of the authority concerned, his/her admission may be cancelled and the fees paid by his/her shall not be refunded.
• If on scrutiny or verification of original testimonials either at the time of admission or at a time later stage any discrepancy or incorrectness or alteration is noticed, The admission of such a candidate shall be cancelled forth with without any refund of fees, if paid, without serving any notice thereof.
• If any Information supplied by a candidate in connection with his/her admission is later on found to be incorrect, the candidate shall forfeit all the fees/charges paid by him/her and shall be liable to dismissal from the institution.

FEES / CHARGES

• The tuition fees or other legitimate charges for different courses shall be as prescribed by the University/ Management from time to time.
• Fees/Charges once paid shall neither be refundable nor be transferable under any circumstances. Hence students and their guardians are requested to go through the prospectus carefully before taking admission .
• Internship fees and clinical posting fee to be paid extra as per govt. Hospital norms.
