About Us

The PEWS Group of Institutions, established in 2003, is the largest group of institutions in the northeast. It includes the College of Physiotherapy & Medical Sciences, CPMS College of Nursing, CPMS School of Nursing, and CPMS College of Paramedical Sciences. These colleges represent the dedication of its founders to quality education.

PEWS at a Glance

PEWS began in 2003 through the efforts of educational enthusiasts in Guwahati. Registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, it has grown significantly. Guided by the slogan “With a Solution for a Brighter Tomorrow,” PEWS focuses on professional and vocational courses needed in the northeast. Its colleges offer various programs, creating employment opportunities and broadening the academic horizon of the region.

Bachelor of Physiotherapy

  • Eligibility: 10+2 Science with 50% in PCB (45% for SC/ST/OBC)

MSc (Nursing) Post Basic BSc (Nursing) BSc (Nursing) GNM ANM

CPMS College of Nursing

Academic Programme

  • Basic B.Sc (Nursing): 4 years, including a 6-month internship. Intake Capacity: 50.
  • Post Basic B.Sc (Nursing): 2 years. Intake Capacity: 20.
  • Affiliated to: SNDT Women’s University & Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences.
  • Recognized by: State Nursing Council, Assam, and INC.
  • Approved by: Government of Assam, Indian Nursing Council, and State Nursing Council.

Eligibility

  • B.Sc Nursing: 10+2 Science with 45% marks in PCBE (40% for SC/ST).
  • Post Basic B.Sc (N): GNM Passed.

CPMS School of Nursing

Academic Programme

  • Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM): 3½ years. Intake Capacity: 50.
  • Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery (ANM): 2 years. Intake Capacity: 25 (Proposed for 60 seats).
  • Eligibility:
    • GNM: 10+2 with a minimum of 40% marks.
    • ANM: 10+2 passed in any stream.

Physiotherapists work in hospitals, healthcare centers, rehabilitation centers, schools, industry, sports, academic fields, and more. There is a growing demand for physiotherapists, both in India and abroad.

Admission & Selection

Application for Admission

  • Collect the prospectus and admission form from the office.
  • Submit the form with required testimonials personally or by registered post.
  • Applications must include attested copies of necessary documents.

Qualifying Examination

  • For BPT or B.Sc Nursing/BMLT: Pass Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination (Science Stream) with 45% in PCB (40% for SC/ST).
  • For ANM/DMLT: 10+2 with 35% marks.
  • For MPT: 50% marks in BPT. For Post Basic B.Sc (Nursing): 50% in GNM.

Admission

  • The list of selected candidates will be notified on notice boards.
  • Selected candidates must report on the specified date with full fees.
  • Failure to report or pay fees results in forfeiture of admission.

Cancellation

  • Admission may be canceled if the candidate fails to join the course within ten days from the start.
  • Continuous absence for 15 days without permission may also result in cancellation.
  • Discrepancies in testimonials or incorrect information can lead to cancellation without refund.

Fees/Charges

  • Tuition fees and other charges are prescribed by the University/Management.
  • Fees once paid are neither refundable nor transferable.
