Abhayapuri College, established on 13th August 1955, stands as one of the oldest educational institutions in Assam, situated in the vibrant Abhayapuri Town, often referred to as the “Devadaru Nagree.” Known for its strict discipline, academic excellence, and significant results history, the college is dedicated to holistic development through the concerted efforts of its teachers, staff, and governing body members.

Selection Criteria for Different Courses

HS (10+2) Level:

• Admission is based strictly on merit for Arts and Science streams.

UG Level:

• For Honours Courses, candidates must indicate their preferred subjects in the application form.
• Selection is based on the marks obtained in the HS Examination and the marks in the subject chosen for Honours.
• A minimum of 50% marks in HS Examination and 45% in the subject of Honours is required.
• A skill test will be conducted to assess students’ abilities in the chosen Honours subject.

Specific Criteria:

• Chemistry Honours requires Physics/Mathematics as an elective.
• Botany Honours requires Zoology or Chemistry as an elective.
• Physics Honours requires Mathematics, Chemistry, or Computer Science as an elective.
• Zoology Honours requires Botany or Chemistry as an elective.
• Mathematics Honours requires Physics, Chemistry, or Computer Science as an elective.
